Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic, non-contagious, inflammatory skin condition characterized by the rapid buildup of skin cells resulting in scaling, redness, itching, and thickened plaques, most commonly on the scalp, elbows, knees, and lower back. It is considered an autoimmune disorder and often has a relapsing-remitting course. Ayurveda considers the condition under the Kushta ( skin diseases), which is a result of the vitiation of all the three doshas (vata, pitta, kapha), Rakta Dhatu (blood tissue), Twak (skin), and Mamsa (muscle tissue).

The main causes of Psoriasis are incompatible foods (Viruddha Ahara) like milk with fish, curd with sour fruits, etc., excessive consumption of heavy, oily, and cold food, suppression of natural urges, irregular lifestyle and mental stress, excessive alcohol or meat intake, genetic cause and environmental factors.
