Osteoarthritis
Millions of people worldwide suffer from a disorder called arthritis affecting the body's joints and causing pain and swelling in one or more of them. The main symptoms are joint swelling, stiffness, and excruciating pain, which worsens in cold weather. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and gout are the three types of arthritis. There is no long-term remedy for the degenerative disorders. Degenerative diseases were treated using a mix of drugs, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications. In order to relieve the irritated vata that causes joint pain, Ayurvedic treatment for osteoarthritis, also known as sandhivata, focusses on vata-balancing techniques and drugs.

OSTEOARTHRITIS AND AYURVEDA TREATMENT:
Since osteoarthritis is caused by an intensified Vata dosha, it is referred to as "Sandhivata" in Ayurveda. Joint discomfort and oedema are the results of Vata accumulation in weaker body parts. Dryness is a characteristic of the Vata dosha. It has a tendency to absorb fluids from the joint cartilage when it becomes irritated. When Vata activity in the joints develop and cause discomfort, the resulting condition is called Sandhivata. Balancing the imbalanced Vata dosha is the main goal of Ayurvedic treatment for osteoarthritis.
