Niruha Basti

Niruha Basti is a type of medicated Enema. Unlike Anuvasana Basti (Lipids used), a “Kashaya” (herbal decoction) is the chief constituent here, along with honey (Madhu), rock salt (Saindhava Lavana), paste of herbs (Kalka) and lipids(ex-oils). Instead of herbal decoction milk, cow’s urine etc. are also used. “Niruha Basti” is also called Kashaya Basti or Asthapana Basti.
